I got a shipment of 60 pallets! for my pallet garden project. After trying many ways to take them apart, I have settled on these ones. They are quick and they use tools that are commonly available and you end up with nail free wood. Note: This will work with a 2 ft long or 3 ft long Pry bar instead of the really long heavy bar I used. (The big heavy one is a little slower but it gives slightly better wood removal). The key to this method is the short bar under the wood that distributes pressure and greatly reduces splitting. Before that I tried angle grinders, The smoke!, reciprocating saws (doubles the amount of nail bits) and circular saws (destroys the wood and leaves the nails in). And Hammers, sometimes they work but often they damage the wood. And anyway, you might need 3 or 4 different hammer head weights.
