M.V. Native floating down the Fraser River freshet by New Westminster, British Columbia. This type of boat was used during Cariboo Gold Rush in the late 1860s to transport miners and supplies up the Fraser River to Yale. From there a rugged 400 mile trail would take miners to Barkerville in the interior of British Columbia.
