During a visit to four countries in Africa from October 27th to October 30th, World Bank Group President, Jim Yong Kim, pledged $1.8 billion in new programs for countries in the Horn of Africa, and an additional $100 million to speed up deployment of foreign health workers to the three countries most heavily impacted by Ebola: Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

In Ethiopia, Somalia and Kenya, Jim Kim was joined by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the President of the Islamic Development Bank, and other development leaders.
