The Multihull Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race is one of Australia’s most spectacular offshore yacht races. Each year the yachts set sail from beautiful Moreton Bay on Good Friday cheered on by thousands of onlookers from the shore at the Shorncliffe Pier, in Brisbane and on the water at Bramble Bay.

The 52nd ocean classic began with celebrations on the new Shorncliffe Pier, with the Multihull Fleet starting off the end of the Pier giving a great spectacular for the watching crowds of the Blue Water Festival.

Entrants will include the countries best race boats from Queensland as well as interstate champions with Morticia and Top Gun entering the event to compete against the local MYCQ regulars.

Enjoy the highlights of the race starting from commentary from the start by Alasdair Noble, supported by the Multihull Yacht club of Qld Members (MYCQ) with a years planning for this success. The race is attracting more entrants and sponsors each year with this video exposure MYCQ welcomes and interested sailors for 2017.

Filming by Julie Geldard and Sean McKay of VidPicPromotions, in memory of Phil Macqueen who loved filming this race for last 7 years, with the excitement and spectacular sight of the fleet from the air as boats cross Moretone Bay and turn towards Caloundra, still group together. Chopperline at Caloundra, flight training school provide us with the best pilots for this coverage.
