Chopper in the pool! Chopper is roughly 1-2 years old and is some kind of pit bull terrier and mastiff mix. He's a big old boy, with a giant head and an awesome pit bull smile! His personality is almost as big as his head, but not quite. Despite his size and muscular build, Chopper is very easy to handle and is great on a leash. He has great manners and knows not to jump up to say hello to people is not mouthy like some young dogs tend to be and is very, very gentle! Chopper already knows basic commands like "sit" and "lay down" and is currently learning new things everyday! Right now, he's working on "paw", "stay" and "come" - he's easily motivated by treats and will be a breeze to continue to train. Chopper is a medium energy dog who would love to go for walks and runs, but also doesn't mind hanging out and watching the Phils games. Chopper appears to be housebroken because he tries very hard to hold it while in the kennels. His new family should expect a couple accidents while he is adjusting to a new schedule, but should catch onto things in no time! Chopper gets along with other dogs! Please bring yours down to meet him to make sure it's a good match. Chopper didn't pay any attention to the cats he has met at the shelter. When swatted at, he looked startled and walked away. He could probably get along just fine with cats with a slow introduction. Families with children should bring them in to meet Chopper before adopting to make sure everyone is ready for a pup! Chopper is up to date on shots and will be microchipped and neutered before going to his forever home.
