This is the infamous "Plane Crash at Baseball Game" clip. It has been viewed millions of times on media sites and has been seen around the world, including in quite a few unauthorized TV shows.

The mythology surrounding this event has taken on a life of its own. Yes, it was a plane crash. But, it was actually at a soccer game.

The pilot's daughter was playing on the field at the time but she accidentally scored an own goal in the confusion, so it was kind of a draw for her.

The landing was as sensational as the total lack of preparation for all concerned. The Anchorage Police and Fire departments get five stars all around for speed and effectiveness. They even looked good doing it. Many other rabbit trails below. Feel free to add yours.

The greatest play-by-play of a plane crash was delivered by Gero von Dehn, lead singer, guitarist and writer for the band Monolith Wielder, now recording artists under the Argonauta Records label. New album due in September.

Cameraman Todd Dennis captures all the action from the pressbox of Mulcahy Stadium. In the booth with Gero and Todd are Anne and Don.
