Mayor Bloomberg, NYCHA Chairman John Rhea, NYCHA General Manager Cecil House, NYS Assemblyman Keith Wright, and President of the Citywide Council of Presidents Reginald Bowman, jointly announced an aggressive plan to eliminate the current backlog of maintenance and repair work at NYCHA developments citywide. Sustained underfunding by the Federal government has forced NYCHA to cut maintenance and repair staff, while at the same time, NYCHA properties that were constructed decades ago have also suffered, as federal capital improvement and repair funding has also declined. The Action Plan will make operational processes more efficient while also working to reduce wait times for repairs. http://www.nyc.gov/html/nycha/html/ne...
