A family physician and two residential care specialists provide their perspectives on the issue of polypharmacy in residential care facilities, new clinical materials supported by the Shared Care Polypharmacy initiative, and the effect of the"circle of care" approach on patients.
The Shared Care Polypharmacy initiative, funded by the joint BC Medical Association/Ministry of Health Shared Care Committee, aims to improve the management of patients on multiple medications that may impact quality of life and patient safety.
