Dara Dotz uses 3D printing to disrupt black markets, geography and unreliable supply chains to get emergency medical parts to disaster zones.

Dara and her colleagues have also placed the first 3D printer in space (aboard the International Space Station).

Ashley Dara Dotz is a designer, a humanitarian, and a pioneer in 3D printing in austere environments. She initiated the first 3D printing lab in Haiti (iLab Haiti) and is a co-founder of Field Ready.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
