A night of music and dancing is here to help women across the world. Aanchal Gupta from Vision Express stopped by News 13's studios to share more about the fundraiser. The Indian dance-drama, titled Krishna, will open to audiences on Sunday, September 22 at the Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage. Brought to Flat Rock Playhouse by Nrithyanjali School of Dance, Krishna is an epic tale of the Indian legend by the same name. The 90-minute program will take audiences on a journey through his life, filled with mischief and adventure, told through a combination of song, dance, and drama. All proceeds from this unique cultural event will benefit Vision Express, a 501c3 charitable organization based in Asheville, NC. This nonprofit performs cataract operations on underprivileged women in rural India with the express mission to eradicate blindness from cataracts in this population. Vision Express was founded in 2012 by local entrepreneur and philanthropist, Rakesh Agarwal, CEO of Rug Home. Tickets for this show are $35 and all proceeds will go towards a worthy cause. The performance will be followed by a complimentary reception and traditional Indian hors d'oeuvres outside. To purchase tickets , call the Flat Rock Playhouse box office at (828) 693-0731 and visit their website. To see a show preview, click here. To find out more about Vision Express, click here.
