The poem 'Never-to-be' by Walter de la Mare was published in his 'The Listeners and Other Poems' collection in 1912. Bird Radio set the poem to music and recorded it on residency at Aldeburgh Music for his album of 14 Walter de la Mare poem settings 'Oh, Happy England', out on CD and digital download on 15th June 2015 on SFE/Cherry Red Records. www.birdradio.co.uk.

This film by Chiara Ambrosio (www.acuriousroom.com) features the actual album recording vocal performance made in one take in the Britten Studio, Aldeburgh Music, Suffolk UK in July 2014. The flutes and voice in this piece are performed by Bird Radio, the cello is performed by Laura Moody.

'Oh, Happy England' will be premiered live with an ensemble (Laura Moody cello, Simon Deacon piano, Tobion Johns guitars, Akinori Fujimoto percussion) at Kings Place London on 19th June 2015 at 8pm. Tickets are available from www.kingsplace.co.uk/birdradio.
