Many African Americans in times past and this day present suffer to the point of death from the sickle cell disease. "Yesterday's Storm", is a book recently written by Stephanie Germon detailing a story of a share cropping family who survived emotional trauma from such a horrible disease. Enough haven't been said about the strong mid-wives who rolled up their sleeves and aided the poor souls in that day who weren't privy to health care at any level...yet and still they survived.
