The Nordkette singletrail is one of Europe's steepest, longest and most difficult mountain bike descents.
The 1 kilometre long trail offers a difference in altitude of 250 metres and starts at Innsbruck's Hungerburg. The start itself is situated 500 metres east of the top station of the Hungerburgbahn and can be reached by car, Bus "J" or the new funicular; it ends practically in the town centre.
Information about opening dates and times can be found at http://www.nordkette.com. Including the special Friday evening opening hours where riders can use every last bit of their day on the mountain.
