The CHEST Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), blends specialty medicine and public health initiatives to serve those in need. The CHEST Foundation focuses its efforts on four main areas: tobacco prevention, humanitarian service, clinical research, and critical care.
Tobacco prevention has been a longstanding area of focus for the ACCP and The CHEST Foundation. Through the development of educational resources that help ACCP members address tobacco-related issues in their communities, The CHEST Foundation has become a leader in local, state, and national tobacco prevention advocacy and programming. The CHEST Foundation's tobacco prevention resources include the "Make the Choice: Tobacco or Health? Speaker's Kit CD-ROM" (available in English and French); Lung Lessons: A Presenter's Guide, Healthy Lungs for African Americans, and much more.
