Shove It! (Shove It! ...The Warehouse Game) is an uncommon Genesis title and one of many games within the "Soukoban" (or just Sokoban) series of logic puzzlers by "Thinking Rabbit". It's one of the few to be released on a home console in the U.S. and goes by the name of "Shijou Saidai no Soukoban" in Japan. A similar game by the name of "Super Soukoban" was released for the Super Famicom and "Boxyboy" for the TurboGrafx-16.

Believe it or not, the game has a story... it even goes beyond one page in its manual, but I'll give you the summarized version. As Stevedore, an overly-muscular AND intelligent warehouse man, you've always been known as a kind, hard worker. You get paid a decent wage, and have just bought the car of your dreams. Everything is good, until you meet the girl of your dreams, and before you can take her on a date, an "idiot" in a hot sports car grabs her attention and drives away with her.

Common sense would tell you to forget the gold digger, but you really want her to be in your car, so you have to get an even better ride; It's gotta be the sweetest ride on the planet with the works. If you have that, she'll have to notice you right? Well, in order to get such a car, you have to work some serious overtime by doing jobs in 160 warehouses filled with complex designs and particular spots for boxes. While a smarter man would have found another way to move boxes, old Stevedore thinks it's faster and manlier to push them but not pull them. You won't be seeing that ride anytime soon, I can tell you that.

I'm not a huge fan of Soukoban games, but you do get what you pay for. The game can last you for years. The main idea is to get all the boxes on the dotted spots. Things to be mindful of are avoiding corners, utilize open space, avoid pushing boxes next to each other unless you're positive that's where it belongs, and you can ONLY push objects (hence the name, Shove It!). I should say that the ending is totally not worth it, so I hope you are not playing a game like this just to see the ending. Enjoy.
