March 16, 2014, Albuquerque Police killed a man named James Boyd, in the foothills on the eastern edge of town, while he was in the act of surrendering, after a long standoff. Real-time helmet cam video of the shooting, provided by APD. The video clearly shows what happened, including audio. APD Chief Eden thinks the shooting was justified.
