DESCRIPTION According to more than 90% of renown epidemiologists the world as we know it will get to do with a serious pandemic within the next two generations. Explaining a pandemic as following:
Over 1 Billion people would get infected Over 165 Million would die A global recession and depression would follow There would be a 1-3 Trillion cost to the world economy There are basically three reasons that most specialist fear this doom scenario.
There world population has exploded during the last century (more than tripled) People live closer together (people have been moving to city’s) People travel a lot more and farther (most important reason) This pandemic will most likely be airborne. The only way to stop such a pandemic will be to isolate all infected people, to prevent further contamination. This isolation will of course bring a lot of problems with it.
One of the big challenges will be to isolate people without treating them in an inhumane way. There where people used to be throw outside of the city walls and where left out there alone to die we will create a membrane which permits people to maintain intimacy without the risk of contamination.
