This is the latest in what I hope will be a long line of love songs that I write for my beautiful wife. As of December 4, 2009 this song is unreleased, but I would look for it on my next release coming out early 2010. If you haven't checked out the CD "Looking Up At The Same Star" it has 7 love songs I wrote for her along with the song I sang when I proposed, plus several other wedding songs I've written for friends over the years. This song speaks of wishing to be able to hold onto the special moments we have that seem fleeting. I wish that I could freeze time or somehow learn to "stop the sun." I recorded this at home while she was away and it is a surprise to her as it is also our 1st anniversary song. So if you see this before Christmas 2009 please don't say anything! Shhh... it's our little secret. ;)
It's now officially Christmas morning 2009 and Jess has now heard an amazing studio recording of her new song, so I guess it's safe to release this to the whole world now. :) Enjoy!

You can now download the single on Amazon and iTunes:

The days have come and they have gone
Wish I'd faith like Joshua to stop the sun
A moment frozen in time
Where I could be yours and you'd be mine

Life's merry-go-round spins us past
Wish I could make these all too brief moments last
Turn a blink into nine
Where we'd be just one heartbeat entwined

If I had my wish time would be undone
So I could hold you forever now my love
One moment burning bright
If only my love could learn
To stop the sun

I try to show how much I cherish you in song
Though some days work takes me away from you too long
So I hope that these words
Will ring in your ears till I am home

For it seems just a glance over my shoulder when we met
But somehow a year's flown by since the day when we were wed
Oh we've laughed and we've cried
Seen both struggles, blessings alike
I thank God for you my wife
