Shepard is back from the dead, but he has no time to ponder the philosophical implications as the facility comes under attack.

Thank you for doing ME2! I played a short li'l Trial version and was so *awful* at shooting, I couldn't get past much of anything. Still, I was dying to know what happened later on. :)

Conrad Verner mentions it if you keep talking to him *before* doing his assignment.

First time I played, I laughed so hard at Miranda's reaction here: Shep: "This pistol doesn't have a thermal clip" Miranda: "IT'S A MED-BAY!"
cvrc11
Oh? What would that be? Because I don't remember anything of the sort.

Why not just combine the two systems then? Ie. You keep the unlimited ammo, and the heat gauge that cools over time, but you add limited quantities of "thermal clips" or quick change barrels etc to allow the operator to quickly recover and reset from an overheat situation. This way clips become more of a special item rather than an abundant consumable. From a gameplay point I think the "reload system" is more fun, but the lore behind it is so broken that its codec should've just been left blank.

I think the advantage gained by Thermal Clips is that the weapons can now fire with NO overheating AT ALL. This also eliminates permanent malfunction risks (if it were a real wolrd). In ME1 you could fire your weapon until it overheated, then you had to wait a while, then fire again, but it didn't require any (heat) ammo. In ME2 you need to carry heat clips, but your weapon never fails as long as you have ammo. I consider it a nice change.

The Thermal Clip thing bugs me. Why would any organization modify weapons that previously had infinite ammo, to use finite ammo, clips etc? The logistics, infrastructure, cost, and time needed to retrofit THE ENTIRE GALAXY would seem to prevent this from happening in Shepard's lifetime even if everyone wanted too. Can't he just let it cool off, or run it under some cold water? Wouldn't heat dissipate over time? How many clips does he have? Looks like an ammo counter, not a clip counter. grrr

Shepard Awakens: Urgghh.. Spike?... Fay??! You're not Fay.. Spike what's going on here?? Ack you shaved your head? What did you do to the Bebop?!
Dilandau3000
Did we ever actually see that logo in ME1? I don't hink we did. The player might recognise from the main menu, but I don't think Shepard has ever seen it before.
