Roforofo Fight - Fela Ransome Kuti (1972). *11 minute edit*

Fela was a Nigerian musician who used song to address his causes, often direct and always close to his heart. Fela played with various backing musicians such as Africa 70 and Ginger Baker of 'Cream'. His music style is generally classed as 'Afrobeat' which combines funk, jazz and rock. All these musical influences are tied together with hypnotic African jungle grooves.

I was first introduced to the music of Fela by my very good companion Temi who came to Britain in 1988 from Nigeria. I've set the music to some Nigerian sunsets and although the country sometimes gets some negative press, it is, by all accounts, an extremely beautiful land rich in culture and music.

The images are borrowed from around the net and are of Nigeria, please let me know if you would like credit for an image. Click here for more info on Fela: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fela_Kuti

If it wasn't for Temi donating an old p.c. to me in 2002, and persuading me to get web-wise, I honestly don't think I'd be online now... a generous friend.
