On 3rd June 2012, London held a massive river pageant to celebrate Queen Elizabeth ll's 60 years on the throne. Watched on TV by many millions around the world, the pageant was whistled underway at 2.15pm by preserved steam locomotive no 6201 Princess Elizabeth, parked on the Cremorne Bridge (Battersea Railway Bridge).
6201 had brought a charter train from Solihull to London that morning, organised by Vintage Trains Ltd. This video shows the return journey passing Ascot at about 7.30pm in the rain.
Though I was alone when I arrived at this location, and had good clear shots up and down the line from my position, as you will see this was not to last.......
