The third video lesson of Lingwa de Planeta. A song by Rasul Gamzatov (he originally wrote the lyrics in Avar language) and Yan Frenkel.

Koyves me dumi, mogbi toy soldata,
Kel fon hemose felda bu he lai, -
Li bu zai lagi somni inen arda,
Bat li bikam-te blan guran kel flai.

E li zai flai til nau, depos longtaim,
E krai a nu, e voki, kom guran.
Ob por se hi fa-triste al ley flaing?
Nu en-silensi, uupar longem kan.

Walaa da flai, walaa da flai jamilem,
Triangula in skay-ney dalitaa...
Den syao gap me vidi in ley fila.
Fo me ku es toy plasa in blutaa?

Un dey ve lai, kun fila toy guran-ney
Me toshi flai, me bu returni pyu;
Fon gao skay, fon toy blutaa tuman-ney
Me voki vu, vu oli, ke me lyu.

_____

Sometimes I think that, maybe, those soldiers
Who havent come home from the bloody battlefields, -
They are not lying sleeping in the earth,
They have become flying white cranes.

They have been flying until now, since long ago,
And crying to us, calling, as cranes.
Is it because of this that we feel sad when they fly?
We fall silent, stare upwards for a long time.

There it flies, there it flies, beautifully,
The triangle in the celestial distance...
I can see a small gap in their line.
Is that a place for me?

A day will come, with that line of cranes
I'll fly too, with no return;
From the high sky, from that hazy blueness
Ill call you, those that I have left on the earth.
