Here's a video I put together after our trip to draw for the troops on the USS Bonhomme Richard ... some of the pics and vids aren't the best quality but I filmed it all with my iPhone... it is a fairly long video .. the whole ship was a great experience... some info about it: the 8 of us were flown out on a helicopter about 7am... then drew consistently for about 3 1/2 hours for whoever wanted something. We never were without someone being next up. It was a most gratifying experience (just so you know when you are watching this... it appears like we never spent much time drawing but I was too busy to pic or vid during that)... the drawing time was between our greeting on the ship (by the captain no less) and our walking down the corridors... there are a few pics of us setting up to draw... we were amazed and honored that Captain Funk himself greeted us (he is the man in the yellow shirt throughout the video) ... he was so enthusiastic, warm and welcoming... we were on the bridge with him during the docking, and then he spent another 30 minutes or so with us in his cabin... it was quite extraordinary... then we were privileged to see the ceremony as a Lieutenant left the ship for good (3 cheers for her)... we were thankful to get the opportunity to have this whole experience... The cartoonists are: Michael( 2 time pulitzer winning editorial cartoonist) Ramirez, Chad (Tundra) Carpenter, Stephen (Kim Possible, etc) Silver, Bruce (Army cartoonist) Higdon, Mason (BC) Mastroianni, Greg (Luann) Evans, Jeff (Broadside naval cartoons) Bacon and me, Jeff (Family Circus) Keane.
