This Aakash iTutor video talks about surface chemistry because properties of the substances at the surface and the interiors are different. The force of attraction present at the surface and the interior is different where the interior ones will experience the same force, but at the surface, the force is unbalanced and thus can absorb, adsorb and retain more molecules. Adsorption is the phenomenon of attracting and retaining the molecules of gasses or liquids on the solid surface. An example is charcoal which is a solid substance. If we pass hydrogen over charcoal, the molecules will be retained only on the solid surface, and thus adsorption will occur.
