Melbourne (Australia) reggae-dub band Pressure Drop filmed (June 2011) during the recording of Peace Dub - one track of their aLIVE 2011 CD. For further details http://www.pressuredropband.org
Pressure Drop were one of the early pioneers of reggae and dub in Australia starting life in 1978. The band was popular around the pubs and clubs in Melbourne for the next several years. In 1979 the band released a single that charted highly on the alternative radio lists.
By the early 1980s the band was experimenting with live dub using on-stage echo chambers and mixing techniques that were new to the Melbourne scene. There is very little live audio left of this era but the band did record a number of tracks for posterity in 1981 which are called the Clayton Tapes and are available from the band's WWW home page.
In 2010, the core of the original band reformed and aLIVE 2011 is the first of the new generation Pressure Drop offerings. It was recorded in a live environment.
There are also two bonus tracks on this CD which are from the 1979 single recorded at Richmond Recorders in Melbourne with Tony Cohen as engineer.
