This is the city of Medellin, a city of eternal spring, north of the capital Bogota, but still in the heart of trembling Colombia. The country of peace in Latin America is on its way to the new future and Busworld is in the wake. For the first time ever there is a Busworld Latin America and the results of the kick-off are tremendous.
And in Medillin, Busworld is in the heart of Latin America. The continent stands on the eve of becoming the engine of the world for buses.
More than 60 exhibitors coming from 16 different countries welcomed more than 2.640 visitors. It was the best first edition ever in the Busworld history.
Colombia is also the perfect place for launching world premieres. This is the first biarticulated bus powered by a Euro VI CNG-engine by Scania. But also Mercedes was drawing a lot of attention with this rotating chassis in their booth. And of course also a lot of accessorists presented their latest products.
Medillin is one of the most evolved public transport cities in the world. Very impressive is their so called BRT-metrobus and annex cablelift system that transports the people of the city trough their daily life. The Busworld team was honoured to welcome the Belgian federal minister of mobility during the fair in Medillin.
Busworld was in Medillin with a very well prepared academic agenda. 35 experts from 11 countries were attending. Exchanging knowledge and learning from the best experts in the world was the main instruction on the successful Busworld academy.
The Busworld board is already preparing for a next edition in Colombia, South America. Medillin, the city of buses and the eternal spring will welcome Busworld again.
