In the first part of a collaboration between the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) and the Pirbright Institute, Dr Helen Roberts looks at the risk of bluetongue disease type 8 spreading into the UK in 2016.
Bluetongue is a notifiable disease which can affect all ruminant species, including sheep, cattle, deer, goats and camelids (e.g. camels, llamas, alpacas).
