How To Screen Print: Using Color Ink As An Under Base
*Using a color ink as its own under base is really best when only one color needs to be under based. On a 6/6 rotary press you would rotate the pallets and print heads exactly the same way whether the under base is color or white. In this video, the red and green could have been printed wet together then flashed. Then I could have printed the red then flash curing and finally print the green again. That would be the thing to do if you had a lot to print and you didn't want to set up a white printer for some reason. This sequence would make it the same difference as if it were white ink except you are printing twice to create the under base. That's why this technique is most efficient with a single color.
