Prostitutes Anonymous was founded in 1987 by Jody Williams. To be "personally anonymous at the level of press, radio and films" Jody appeared under the name the courts gave her when arrested in 1984, "Rene". The group has been renamed to "Sex Workers Anonymous" in 1995 for reasons even seen on this show - that one can be in "sex work" WITHOUT being a "prostitute". Because we must abstain from all forms of sex work - the program was renamed. Especially after seeing many women like on this show returning to the "life" after having been out 15 to 20 years. If you would like help to leave any part of the sex industry you can find us now at www.sexworkersanonymous.com or www.prostitutesanonymous.mobi.
