In many Baltic states May 9th, the day of the surrender of Nazi Germany to the Soviet Union, is celebrated as Victory Day. Huge parades and fanfare take place across the region and, in a much smaller fashion, in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. There, a few remaining veterans assembled to talk about their experiences during the war, their experiences as Jews and their lives in Brooklyn.
