A review of the quality of life given to horses, who afford the businesses that operate a gainful living in ATL, GA. Advocates have records of sickly horses working, poor treatment, lack of care and neglect including improper adjusted saddles and hooves causing avoidable pain and injury to the working horses. These advocates are requesting Atlanta's public representatives; ATL City Council and Fulton County Commissioners, Mayor K. Reed and Governor N, Deal to REQUIRE the Department of Agriculture, Equine Division & APD, who are responsible for monitering the conditions, to ENFORCE the protective CITY OF ATLANTA ORDINANCES these animals are entitled to by LAW.
Specifically these 5 steps are critical for meaningful change:
* A stationary water station in downtown ATL,GA with shade * Over-site of working times permitted, temperatures, rest & water breaks * A proper stable with grazing area * Proper training for drivers and APD to monitor * Periodic medical check-ups for the horses in their resting area.
