Scars - Emmanuel Jal with Nelly Furtado
Lyrics

Verse 1
I’m a trouble,
I’m a trouble,
I’m a troubled child.
Could you see my smile?
I walked many miles
My story’s the Nile.
I know what is mine,
I don’t live in denial.
Ahhhhhhhhhh

Chorus
My scars are what got me this far
And now I can touch the stars
Coz it don’t matter who you are
Who you are
We’ve all got scars.

Verse 2
As a little girl
Painted my whole world
With a strange palette, but a palette that was mine
And if I felt pain, I washed it away
With the melody and a smile
It worked every time

Chorus
My scars are what got me this far
And now I can touch the stars (every star)
Coz it don’t matter who you are
Who you are

My scars are what got me this far
And now I can touch the stars
Coz it don’t matter who you are
Who you are
We’ve all got scars

Verse 3
Walaah
Chi shodah wang [My leg is burned]
Walaah [Light]
Chi lojda wang [My heart Is burned]
Walaah [Light]
Chi tedah wang [My hand is burned]
Walaah walaah [Light, light]
Chi wijdah wang [My head is burned]
Oh walaah walaah [Oh Light, light]
Nguodah Bomah [Am still strong]
Oh walaah walaah [Oh Light, Oh light]
