Mormonism could very well be at the crossroads of some significant changes from some of its long held cultural practices.

The recent activity has shown straight-laced Mormon allies at Gay Pride parades; a Tony winning Book of Mormon Musical by South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker; the Mormon Church's Proposition 8 campaign (banning gay marriage rights) PR disaster, the intense public scrutiny of Mormonism in light of Mitt Romney's high profile GOP bid for the American Presidency and the flowering of Mormon social media that is steadily building progressive online communities who are actively campaigning for change and transparency. How Mormonism manages to hold onto its unique theology and preserve a stable Mormon identity will be its greatest challenge yet.

If you have an interest in how media, politics and public perceptions influence and affect religion, this thought provoking public lecture will be of high interest to you

It is NEITHER a polemic against Mormonism nor is it an attempt at evangelising
