Learn how to make a fabric Olympic Gold Medal for kids just in time for the 2012 Olympics in London.

This craft project is great for kids to help make and play with. Consider having an obstacle course for them or have them play some of the sports included in this year's Olympic Games and reward them with their own gold medal at the end.

The supplies you will need for this project are:
- Sewing machine
- Gold fabric (the shinier the better)
- Fabric for the neck strap & medal loop (watch video for measurement)
- Scissors or rotary cutter + mat
- Pins
- A CD or some other round template (about 5"-6" in diameter)
- Pen or marking device
- Large safety pin
- coordinating thread
- Poly-Fil or cotton balls to stuff inside medal
- two small pieces of hook & loop tape (Velcro)
