The difference between a concussion sign and a concussion symptom, as explained by Dr. William P. Meehan, is that a sign of concussion is one that can be noticed, seen or observed (by parents, coaches, athletic trainers) while a concussion symptom is hidden and something only the athlete feels or experiences.
