(Part 2 covers World 5 through to the end)

(Video description is the same as Part 1)

As cliche as it was, my second LP was the sequel to my first LP, however, this time I managed to put a twist on the game that almost literally made it a completely different game.

To quickly explain it here, the Low-Score Challenge involves me attempting to get 0 points in every single level of the game by evading Stars, Red Coins, and especially Flowers. Doing this involves various tricks to evade getting points, including getting hurt on purpose at the end of each level to get the Star Point timer down to 0.

A bit of back story on this challenge: I originally discovered a thread about this challenge while randomly lurking GameFAQs one day. Several people, including myself, worked together on figuring out strategies for getting the lowest score possible on each level and actually made an FAQ about it (said FAQ can be seen through the url below). This FAQ is way out of date, however, since there are several levels where I've gotten a lower score.

As for the LP, it's a much greater improvement on the previous one. I seemed much more into it this time, and thus the commentary was showing many signs of improvement. Of all my LP's, I suppose this would be the one with the most informative commentary style (due to the challenge, it was pretty much required).

I do have a few regrets with this LP, however. First off, I didn't have my capture card yet at the time, so it was played on an emulator. I sorta end up with this feeling that people might think I abused save states off camera to accomplish this (granted, I've never actually been accused of such a thing). Admittedly, I did use save states on a few select levels simply because it was taking too long, and I sorta feel bad about it. One thing I feel I accomplished with the Let's Play It Again streams is that I was able to prove that I could do this challenge on an actual game cartridge.

The other thing would be all of the confusion with certain levels like 3-6, Extra 1, and Extra 2 where I found a way to lower my score or make things easier. I put annotations and links in the description, but ultimately it still seems messy.

I'd have to say that of all of my LP's this would be the only one I would ever consider redoing (not saying I ever will, of course). It's not a bad LP, but I honestly think that something like this should have been less messy, or even saved for a later point in my time as an LPer when I was more prepared and experienced. Other than that, I'd say this LP was pretty sweet. To this day, Yoshi's Island remains one of my favorite games of all time, and this challenge gives me a whole new way to play it.
