The X Factor Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, September 12, 2012

The X Factor Season 2 premiered on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 on Fox channel. The winner of this singing talent show will receive a $5 Million recording contract with Epic Records. Last season, Melanie Amaro was the winner, Josh Krajcik was the runner up and Chris Rene came in third place.

Simon Cowell has made several changes in the format, host and judges of the show. Last season, Steve Jones hosted the show and the judges were Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and L.A. Reid. For this season, there will be several guest hosts replacing Steve Jones. Simon is still looking to fill the spot with 2 hosts, 1 male and 1 female. Britney Spears and Demi Lovato are the 2 newly added judges on the panel replacing Paula and Nicole.

Auditions for the show began in May 2012 and concluded in July 2012. The competition will include auditions, in front of producers and then the judges with a live audience; bootcamp; judges' houses and then the live finals. Auditions were held in Austin, Texas, Kansas City, Missouri, San Francisco, California, Providence, Rhode Island and Greensboro, North Carolina. Filming for bootcamp started in Miami, Florida on July 26, 2012.

The singers who passed Wednesday night's auditions were:

Jullian Jenson -- who performed "Who You Are" and received a hug from Demi Lovato.
Reed Deming -- the Justin Bieber look-alike who sung "Grenade" by Bruno Mars.
Paige Thomas -- sung "I'm going down" and L.A. Reid compared her to Rihanna.
Quatrele -- how could we forget? He sung "Born This Way", laced in a wedding dress assemble.
Emblem 3 -- a boy-band of 3 young men, sung "Sunset Boulevard."
Jennel Garcia -- labeled "hot" by Demi Lovato. She sung Grace Potter's "Paris."

Singers who passed Thursday night's auditions were:

Johhny Maxwell - rap and sung an "original" song.
Jason Brock - Wowed the judges and audience with his renditon of "New York State of Mind."
Carly Rose - 13 year old who sung Nina Simone's "Feeling Good." LA Reid said that she have an "old soul."

Demi Lovato is a sensitive judge, often crying with the competitors during some of the auditions. However, Britney Spears is not sensitive at all. She often offered harsh words to those she critiqued. Even Simon stated during Wednesday's show, "And you thought I was the bad one."

We are looking forward to the show and hope it brings the same intensity as last years.
