A few years ago, I had a job that I loved A cute little house, and a few bucks to spare But some time ago, it came crashing down And now I ain't goin' nowhere. Somebody thought , they could create a bigger profit If they moved the Operation overseas So they laid us all off, and the Bank foreclosed And all I have left is the keys. I'd like to say, there'll be a future that's bright And we'll get out of this somehow.

Back in the day, when we saw something wrong We put up our fist and rose up in song We've seen Uncle Sam, move to help the elite They propped up the banks, and assisted Wall St Somebody thought we could create a better world By fighting a war overseas It may be the time to bring our kids back Focus on hunger and curing disease The Government will struggle to have its own way Just as much as we'll allow.
I was a 99 Percenter then I am a 99 Percenter now We may not have all the answers We don't want the Country to fall Let's get to work on the matters at hand Lowlife's and billionaires all
Some folks are pushung for a better deal Some are concerned just with their next meal We're all assembled to answer the Call Frightened and shattered since we hit the wall Somebody thought that nobody really cared And America would stay fast asleep Now we're awake and it's all we can take And what motivates us is the company we keep I think I can say that the future looks bright We will get out of this somehow
