This "Care and Handling of Books" slide/tape show was produced at Yale with support from NEH in 1980. Enjoy this walk down library preservation memory lane. The concepts presented are just as valid today as they were then.
Prepared at the Yale University Library under a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities by Anne Dutlinger Peggy Madison Jan Merrill-Oldham Pamela Spitzmueller Project directors, Jane Greenfield and Gay Walker.
'Use of the Slide Shows 1. Please keep slides in order and return them in the box provided. There are 79 slides in the show.
2. These slides will fit most carousels and should be loaded upside down with the emulsion side towards the screen. The slides are numbered on the side away from the screen.
3. The cassette tape is pulsed to move the slides forward automatically if played on a tape player/slide projector machine or combination. The first pulse will change the title slide to the second slide. A copy of of the script is provided in case you do not have a tape recorder. There is a pause of four seconds between each slide. 4. The tape has been recorded on the side marked with the title, Please rewind the tape when finished and notify us of any problems encountered when you return the show.
