Info: http://www.fortpointpier.com. Located on downtown Boston's Fort Point Channel Fort Point Pier is a new public pier, dock and restored seawall providing access to waypoints along Boston's Inner Harbor, Boston Harbor, the Fort Point neighborhood and greater South Boston Waterfront, Castle Island, Pleasure Island, Carson Beach and M Street Beach and the Boston Harbor Islands.

CORRECTION: Since the production date of this video, Fort Point Pier regulations allow access to the floating dock daily from dawn to dusk. The pier is open 24/7.

Fort Point Channel's generally calm basins are amenable to paddlers of a range of skill levels.

For more advanced paddlers, Fort Point Channel opens to Boston Harbor, with further access available to both the Charles River and Mystic River (via locks).

Fort Point Pier abuts a surface parking lot, with easy dropoff, pickup and portage of a kayak or other lightweight craft.
