Club Wood performs Cocaine Habit Blues, a Memphis Jug Band original Recorded on May 17, 1930. Live at the Arcade Bar in Lakewood, Texas. This was a part of their Jazz Funeral for saxaphonist, the Sultan of Sax, Mark Roberts. Performed on September 4th, 2010, this Jazz Funeral was made up of two sets. The first being a somber collection of standards, ballads and slow blues. In their second set, Club Wood performed a decidedly different set. This recording of my favorite Club Wood song, came from the second set. The band is cuttin up and having a party and Johnny Tone is continuing his ranting on the loss of his Sultan of Sax. This is a perfect representation of Club Wood at their "fonkiest"!
