Want to do sustainable design but don't know what software to use to do your analysis? Like the idea of performative design but want to see if it works before trying it yourself? This session will cover these topics and more, with the goal of showing not just how it can be done but that it's already being done. Using real world examples and methods derived from current projects going on around the world, we will explore the core concepts of performance-based design. We will also demonstrate how to achieve success by pairing these concepts with several different software packages such as Revit, Vasari, and Ecotect. Learn how certain kinds of analysis is better suited to certain software, and best practices for maintaining a coordinated design model in order to avoid fragmentation and disorganization. Speakers are Sean Quinn of HOK and Peter Marchese from Microdesk
