http://www.ilsc.com/humanities-courses -- English Through Filmmaking is a unique class offered at ILSC-Vancouver and ILSC-Montreal. This class allows students to not only develop their English speaking and writing skills in a creative and inspiring environment, but they also have the opportunity to write, direct, shoot and edit short films in English. Students learn the basics of digital video while applying English skills to all production roles. No previous filmmaking experience is necessary for this class.
I like this class because it’s a different kind of art. So, it’s been really cool. I like filmmaking because I can express myself. I want to send something very special to people that watch my video. We have to express our ideas, so we use lots of speaking and writing. The first part is pre-production. We have to discuss about the story, and now we are shooting the scene, so we are practicing speaking, and how to act, and intonation. I made really cool friends here. Yes, I love it. Everything is pretty new and it has been really cool. I like everything: I like classmates, the teacher, I like how they teach, I like how they talk to me, and the knowledge I can have. It has given me some ideas, things I can do in the future. Maybe I want to be a director, I don’t know.
