At her very first town hall in New Hampshire in July, we asked Hillary Clinton if she would commit to banning fossil fuel extraction on public lands. She declined. We've been asking her again ever since.
Then, on Thursday, January 4th, right after the Democratic Debate in Durham, New Hampshire, we got one of our last chances to ask before the primary. This time, Secretary Clinton signaled her approval of moratoriums on new fossil fuel leases: "That's where the president's moving. No future extraction. I agree with that."
This is an ENORMOUS victory, made possible by our countless volunteers working together in the movement for climate justice. One step closer to #keepitintheground.
