Luck is one of those things and I got lucky in that Jon, skipper of High Flyer, called me up on a Sunday afternoon to ask if I fancied coming out for a run off Great Yarmouth while he shot a drift net for herring at 5am on the Monday. Before work. How could I possibly refuse? It was a beautiful morning to be on the water and though a bit fresh it was an excellent start to my week, even if the haul, at low water slack, was disappointing (high water slack is preferred but this was the weather window). A spot of rod and line fishing was had while the seal had his breakfast and then it was back in with some of those good old Silver Darlings. So thank you Jon and the boys!
