Eugene Louis Facciuto (aka "Luigi"), a household name and icon in the dance world, and the artist and genius who is credited with creating and teaching the current modern jazz technique. Some have referred to him as: The Godfather of Jazz Dance. Luigi opened his first school, First World Jazz Center, the world's first jazz school , where he befriended and taught many performers including, John Travolta, Liza Minnelli (who still takes classes on a regular basis), Ann Reinking, Barbra Streisand, Ben Vereen and Ms. Kind. The interview took place at Whitman Theatre, Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts on Sat. April 28th following Ms. Kind's performance there.

I took a master class from Luigi in 1987/8 when he came to Jimmy DeFore's Dance Center in OC California. 25 years later I'm taking class from him and Francis again in NYC on W 68th. Luigi didn't teach us how to dance, he taught us how to feel. See you soon Papa!  xoxo
