There are many things you can make at home that will frequently be better than shop-bought, but not necessarily cheaper. But yoghurt isn't one of them - if you make your own yoghurt, you will save a fortune!
Basic yoghurt is super-simple to make, but with a bit more time and some cheesecloth, you can turn it into rich and creamy Greek-style yoghurt, or the Middle Eastern favourite labneh.
Labneh has the texture and consistency of cream cheese, but with a sharper, tangier flavour. Labneh is brilliant spread on a bit of flatbread, or dolloped on a salad. It can be hard to find in Europe, but it's seriously easy to make your own, and well worth the effort.
