Masoor dal or red lentil is one the staple menu in a Bengali household, this non-spicy comfort food is easy to make and is rich in protein. Ingredients: 1 cup red lentil 3 cups water 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 3-4 green chilies 1 teaspoon wild celery (radhuni) 1 teaspoon oil How to: Wash the dal thoroughly and boil in water till its almost done Add salt and turmeric to the boiling dal In a separate pan, heat the oil and throw in the wild celery seeds till it starts popping, about 30 seconds Transfer to the boiling dal and cook for a couple of minutes
