Moncton Firefighters have been battling this blaze all morning . Fire started around 2:30 A.M. Flames were shooting out of the top floor at the rear at the beginning, but a Firefighter told me they had to run hoses from Waterloo Street into a Engine then into the ladder trucks and that it's a old system in that part of the city. Codiac R.C.M.P. been on scene all morning blocking off Albert Street and around 6 A.M. Firefighters wanted Assomption Blvd. blocked from Vaughan Harvey to Lutz because the thick black smoke was causing a driving hazard. Public works brought in barricades. NB Power arrived just before 4 A.M. shutting off power to the whole street put a 1/4 of a Million dollars of vaccine at risk in a neighbouring building, Power was only being restored once Firefighters got fire under control. While fighting this fire M.F.D. received another call for a fire on Cameron street where the roof was suppose to be fully engulfed, so Riverview Fire Dept. responded as mutual aid to Moncton Fire, but when Police and Fire arrived no Fire was found. 7:30 A.M. and Firefighters are still fighting this fire. Lead story on CTV News with Kayla Hounsell & Global Maritimes & CBC NB & NS.
