Now on to our health segment and tonight we focus on chronic sinusitis. With chronic sinusitis, the cavities around the nasal passage become inflamed and swollen and this interferes with drainage causing a mucus build up. Some people have such severe symptoms that they resort to surgery to clear their blocked sinuses. Although sinusitis may not be a life-threatening disease, it has a significant impact on an individual's quality of life. Sally Mbilu explains.
